SunPower
SunPower has been recognised as the top producer of solar cells and panels in the world ever since the introduction of the high-performance IBC solar cells back in 2007. Sunpower continues to make some of the most effective solar panels in the world based on the patented IBC cell technology. Sunpower also has the best performance warranty, with a minimum 88-90 percent guaranteed power rating for up to 40 years. High quality and excellent performance are also features of SunPower’s P series panels, which are more reasonably priced and come with a 25-year product guarantee.

REC
REC is a pioneer in the solar sector and a top developer of solar PV technology. The cutting-edge Alpha series panels, which use high-performance heterojunction cells, have elevated REC to the same level as the finest producers in the world and are among the most effective solar panels currently on the market. The more cheap REC Twinpeak and N-peak solar panels offer excellent value in the fiercely competitive solar industry and are covered by above-average 25-year performance warranties in addition to a 20-year product guarantee.

AIKO
AIKO – A relative newcomer to the global solar market, Aiko has quickly made a name for itself by producing some of the world’s most efficient solar panels. In 2023, their panels even surpassed the performance of industry giant Maxeon Sunpower. Aiko’s commitment to innovation is evident in their unique All Back-Contact (ABC) cell design. 2 This technology allows their Neostar series panels to achieve a remarkable 23.8% peak efficiency and an extremely low power-temperature coefficient of just 0.26%, putting them among the top performers globally. 3 While Aiko was established back in 2009, they remained relatively unknown outside of China until their groundbreaking ABC cell technology was unveiled in 2022. Just a year later, these high-efficiency ABC cell panels entered mass production and became available worldwide at competitive prices, establishing Aiko as a major player in the solar industry.

TINDO
Tindo – Tindo Solar is an Australian solar panel manufacturer with a strong reputation for quality and durability. They focus on producing high-performance panels specifically designed to withstand Australia’s harsh environmental conditions. Tindo prioritizes using premium components and rigorous testing processes to ensure their panels can endure extreme heat, humidity, and even cyclonic winds. While not necessarily chasing the absolute highest efficiency ratings like some manufacturers, Tindo emphasizes reliability and long-term performance. Their panels are known for their robust construction and often come with extended warranties, giving customers peace of mind. Tindo’s commitment to Australian manufacturing and local support has earned them a loyal following, particularly among those who value supporting local businesses and prioritize long-term system reliability.

Jinko Solar
Jinko Solar is a Chinese business that was established in 2006 and is widely regarded as a global leader in the solar panel sector. Its first product line consisted of silicon wafers. Since being listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2010, the stock price has fluctuated a little. As of June 2021, it was trading at slightly over US$37, with a US$1.7 billion market cap. Currently, Jinko employs more than 15,000 people in more than 30 nations.According to information posted on their website in March 2020, the firm has an annual manufacturing capacity of 17.5 GW of monocrystalline silicon wafers, 10.6 GW of solar cells, and 16 GW of solar panels. Jinko has advised Solar Choice that as of June 2021, they would have 9 manufacturing sites located all over the world, with an improved total yearly capacity of 40GW for mono wafers and 50GW for solar panels.

Trina Solar
Trina Solar was one of the earliest solar producers in China, having been established in 1997 by Jifan Gao. Since then, Trina Solar has developed into a global innovator and manufacturer of solar technology. Trina Solar was officially listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2020 and currently employs over 13,000 people worldwide, the bulk of whom are in China. They have factories in Thailand and Vietnam in addition to their production capabilities in China. As of June 2020, Trina Solar had produced and delivered more over 50 GW of photovoltaic solar panels globally.

Canadian Solar
Dr. Shawn Xiaohua Qu created Canadian Solar in Canada in 2001. As of this writing, Dr. Qu is still Canadian Solar’s chairman, president, and CEO. Canadian Solar went public on the NASDAQ in 2006. Canadian Solar has two manufacturing sites in Ontario, Canada, while having the majority of their production in China.According to Bloomberg NEF, Canadian Solar has the fifth-largest solar panel production capacity in the world and is increasingly present in Australia. They employ 50 locals to work in sales, service, and their large-scale solar farm projects, and they operate 4 warehouses around Australia.

Longi Solar
The biggest producer of solar goods in the world, including wafers, cells, and panels, LONGi Solar is also partially to blame for pushing the solar industry towards monocrystalline PERC cells, which are more effective. The business manufactures a variety of reasonably priced solar panels for home and commercial use and has evolved over the past three years as a pioneer in the PV research and development sector. Outstanding successes include new developments in high-efficiency HJT silicon cells, and more recently, Longi delivered the first panels built with their distinctive HPBC cells, making the Longi Hi-MO 6 panels among of the world’s most efficient solar panels.

Phono Solar
In order to promote their parent firm Sumec Group, Phono Solar changed its name to Sumec Phono Solar Australia in 2018. The China National Machinery Industry Corporation, popularly known as Sinomach, is a parent company of Sumec Group. Sinomach is a Chinese state-owned company that was established in Beijing in 1997.With an emphasis on producing polycrystalline and then monocrystalline solar panels, Phono Solar was founded in 2008. They are a lesser scale producer with production facilities in Nanjing, China, with a claimed capacity of 1.6GW (Bloomberg).
